Kiln Week
Posters and wayfinding for a ceramics festival, spread across a small town for nine days.
The brief
Kiln Week opens the studios of a ceramics town to visitors for nine days in May.
The festival needed posters to bring people in, and signs to help them find studios down side streets.
What I did
I drew a simple shape language from the kilns themselves: stacked circles, rings and the warm orange of fired clay.
Each studio got its own poster from the same kit, and the same shapes became arrows and markers on the street.
What changed
62
posters across nine days
Every open studio had its own poster and sign. Visitors could walk the whole route without a printed map.
